Snowmobile Season: Opens the day after Thanksgiving (or snow permitting) thru April 1st.
ATV Season: June - October (opens when Forest Service opens the trails)

Gunnison National Forest has come be due to a man that came through the area looking for a route across the Continental Divide. The forest consists of 1.7 million acres of land and two 14'ers.
