Head north this season and indulge in the 101 mile drive on the Cache La Poudre-North Park Scenic Byway. A well traveled, paved road makes it easy to sit back and enjoy the incredible scenery that the bowl-like valley of North Park has to offer.
This winding byway passes through 2 National Parks, Roosevelt National Forest and Colorado State Forest, as well as running through the Cache La Poudre River Canyon. Stop here to enjoy some whitewater rafting, or simply bring your fishing pole and fly fish the Poudre River, a favorite among fishermen and Colorado's only federally designated National Wild and Scenic River.
Crest the 10,276 foot Cameron Pass and experience glacially graced mountain peaks and evergreen spans that will take your breath from you.
As you draw closer to Walden, you'll find the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge and an opportunity to spot some of Colorado's diverse wildlife in a protected environment. This is one scenic byway that you don't want to miss this season.
As with all Colorado roads, watch for wildlife and less than ideal conditions on the road you're about to take.
