Governor's Mansion Guest Suites

Jesse McDonald Suite
Located on the first floor, this suite exudes Victorian charm. The private entrance opens into a formal parlor with a 12 foot ceiling and crystal chandelier. A gas fireplace with an original mantel and most of the original Victorian tiles still intact creates a cozy warmth. The parlor has a queen sleeper sofa with a very comfortable coil spring mattress. An antique dresser, wood rocker and cable TV are also located in the living room.

The fully equipped kitchen has a cook top range, refrigerator microwave, toaster, coffeemaker and table with four chairs. Delicate floral wallpaper and lace curtains add to is charm.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed with luxurious pillows, an antique dresser and mirror and reproduction wallpaper imported from England. This room also has the oldest wood flooring dating back to 1881 in the original part of the house.

Off of the hall between the kitchen and bedroom is a private bath with a shower. The black-and-white geometric tile floor, mahogany sink cabinet and wainscotting on the walls give this modern bath an old-fashioned feel.

This suite sleeps up to four people. There are doors between the bedroom and hall and the kitchen and parlor for privacy.

Top-of-the-Rockies Suite
The Top-of-the-Rockies Suite encompasses all of the 3rd floor and had wonderful views of Leadville and the surrounding mountains. There is a large 2nd story deck were guests can enjoy the views.

The master suite is very large and charming. It has a king size bed with an ornate white iron headboard, a sink with vanity, large walk-in closet, antique dresser and mirror and a pair of arm chairs in a cozy sitting area. The original plank pine floors are covered with Oriental style rugs.

The living room and kitchen share the same space in a large central area. The living room has a sofa, antique upholstered chair, small writing desk and cable TV. The kitchen occupies one side of the room and has an oak table and 4 chairs, a stove with oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. There is also a large walk-in storage closet.

The private bath is located off the hallway between the kitchen and master bedroom. There are built-in storage shelves, an enclosed shower, cute pedestal sink and an incredible view of the Sawatch range to the south.

A cozy dormer bedroom with 2 twin beds is off of the living room. A dresser and matching nightstand are also in this room.

This suite sleeps up to 4 people. A minimum of 2 is required unless the Jesse McDonald suite is booked for the desired dates.
